Jeffery Redcross is a highly decorated law enforcement professional with 26 years of experience. Mr. Redcross began his career upon his graduation from the University of Alabama Law Enforcement Academy in 1995. He began work a patrol officer with the Florence, Alabama Police Department. While on patrol, Officer Redcross made numerous arrests from public intoxication to murder. Because he excelled in the patrol division, in 2000, Officer Redcross was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division where he began investigating property crime (thefts and burglaries). After 2 years, he switched and investigated violent crimes (rape, robbery, and homicide). After 2 years, Investigator Redcross was promoted to Sergeant and transferred back to the patrol division supervising police officers. Sgt. Redcross was eventually promoted to Lieutenant where he commanded a shift of police officers and supervised sergeants.
During his tenure, Lt. Redcross received several community service awards and acted as a liaison between the community and the department as well as other law enforcement agencies. Awards include: (3) Life-Saving awards, (2) Police Medals, Felony Arrest Award, and Courtroom Preparation Award.
Lt. Redcross retired at the rank of lieutenant in 2020.
Upon Graduation from High School in 1990, Mr. Redcross enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve with the entry rank of Private First-Class (PFC). Upon graduation from Recruit Training, PFC Redcross was the “Honor Graduate” of Platoon 2078 and received a meritorious promotion to Lance Corporal (LCPL). LCPL Redcross was then promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant (Sgt) where he commanded numerous U.S. Marines. After serving 8 years, Sgt. Redcross was honorably discharged in 1998.
While in the Marine Corps Reserve, Sgt. Redcross attended the University of North Alabama (UNA) on a full athletic scholarship after playing one year of high school football. After his return from Paris Island, SC, he began his football career in 1990. He played on the 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993 UNA Football Teams. Because of his leadership, he led UNA to a perfect 14-0 football season leading UNA to its first National Championship (1993). That year he was elected as the Defensive National Player of the Year, All-American selection, and Gulf-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He was ultimately elected in the UNA, Huntsville- Madison County, and Sparkman Halls of Fame respectively.
In 2001, Mr. Redcross received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from UNA. He went on to attend Birmingham School of Law where he received a Juris Doctor in 2019. Mr. Redcross was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 2021.
Mr. Redcross has two children for which he is very proud.
